Scar’s return in the Lion Guard

I know that the show ended years ago, but I am still curious about the scar arc in the show.

Scar first of all is obviously different from his time in the lion king. He obviously wants to regain control over the pride lands except he wanted the pride lands in flames as well. But why would he want to involve the hyenas?

I understand that the hyenas are not the same ones that caused his death, but why help the hyenas, the animals that caused his death?

Also, do you think it would have been cooler if he came back in his lion body?
