Still have Mesh problems MX5500/WHW03 v2
Post Body

I have one MX5500 and three WHW03 v2 nodes which I'm trying to use as child nodes. When I try to do this the prospective child nodes change to broadcast on the SSID of the master node but the light flashes Red on the child nodes implying it isn't connected.

I've tried various resets of the master and child nodes including pressing reset 5 times on the master, all to no avail.

Any ideas how I'm screwing up?

The master node manages to maintain full connection to the modem without problems.

Update: start up process seems to be

  1. Turn off everything - go and have a cup of coffee
  2. Turn on modem - have another cup of coffee
  3. Turn on master router - yet another cup of coffee till it indicates its alive
  4. Turn on slaves - wait for them to stabilise (by now you need a bathroom break)
  5. Reset each slave by holding reset button down. Light should flash read until a long flash indicates reset is complete
  6. Wait for each slave to show stable purple light (Gigaclear ones seem to show a dark rose). You might want tea instead of coffee whilst waiting
  7. Press the reset button on the master 5 times in quick succession. If you do it right the light on the top should flash white shortly before returning to blue. Slaves should start to flash as the master router starts to discover them. Time for to make a sandwich or two whilst waiting
  8. You should get back after your sandwich and find the lights on the slaves are a steady cyan (light blue) colour. if they are you can unplug them and distribute them round the house and have a final drink (champagne?) whilst they adapt to their new position.
