The species would live like this for millions of years during the permian era thriving and evolving with each generation as it continued to infect and turn other species only for the species to go extinct during the permian extinction event with the remains of the species becoming fossilized deep within the earth

The key traits of this species were their unique parasitic evolution with individuals injecting other organisms with a mutagenic substance that would alter the DNA of the infected by causing genes of the parasite species to enter and replace certain genes in the infected and after years of this process being refined only the best traits would remain from the host species leading to the next generation being best optimized to survive in it's environment

Other key traits of the species include highly developed brains that include a special organs that allow for telepathic communication between individuals and their species is separated into a hierarchical structure with each higher caste having unique organs that allow for them to command the lower castes and each individual caste has their own special strain of the mutagenic substance ensuring that each caste will be able to continue their evolution and existence

The USSR would soon isolate and deal with the threat before things could go too far but would be extremely interested in the weapons potential of such a species and eager to create super soldiers in a world where super heroes were becoming more and more common but as the years went on an on with more being learned about the species but before the USSR could weaponize the mutagen it being the government would fall and the research an remains of the species would be stolen taken by one of the lead researchers who would escape to the US using their talents to build a large genetics company all the while they continued to research the ancient species and during this time the age of super heroes and villains would begin
