Normally, he'd be keen to watch the horror as these mortals realized there were consequences for their sinful acts, but today he had other plans. An unusually cunning seductress had died recently, and Lex planned to claim her as a protege. Of course, rising in demonic ranks was not a get-out-of-torment-free affair. "Aaaaargh…!"

Purple smoke began to rise from his skin, accompanied by an acid-like burning sensation. Now? Seriously? Summoning to the mortal realm was a rare occurrence these days. The church had done a good job discouraging amateurs, and those who did engage in diabology were usually a tough fight.

Lex braced himself. Being summoned was an opportunity, but one that carried great risks. If he was summoned and the summoner had the willpower to subdue him, he would be bound to obey, and that would send all his plans and projects out of synch. However, if he could win the clash of wills… oh, the pleasures he could find in the mortal realm! The smoke started fuming from more of his body, and the burning intensified. Lex cocooned his body with his wings and started falling; he didn't need to worry about hitting the ground, as the summoning would be complete well before that. All that mattered now was the battle ahead…!

Lex felt his body shatter apart in hell only to reform seconds later in the mortal realm. He extended his wings from the cocooning posture, extinguishing all the ceremonial lights in the room by the force of their gust. With a thunderous voice, he spoke, "I am Lex'ta'ral, demon of the third circle! Fear me, mortal, for you ha-“

Before Lex knelled a woman dressed in a robe and with a shocked expression. Nothing and no one sustained the energy of the summoning, so the spell dissipated without any of the energy even attempting to fuel a clash of wills.

Lex stood, summoned to the mortal realm and free. Completely free. Lex looked down upon the woman. The thunderous energy of his voice vanished in sheer shock and all he could mutter was…

“Erh… hi?".
