Only operate during the day and no longer generate enough power to meet demand to regular blackouts occur throughout the day and electricity is non existent at night. Hospitals are only open during the day, with limited supplies. No transport at night, no deliveries, and non-manufacturing at night. Everything becomes high demand and low stock. Production of fuel is down.

Maintenance of structures and infrastructure? Nobody wants to go into abandoned buildings, dark tunnels and frequently unoccupied spaces when there's a risk they're going to have their body drained of blood. Water shortages rise, roads go unmaintained, buildings start to crumble.

Lack of fuel and electricity for transport and communication? No overnight flights? Kiss travel between different countries goodbye. If you can't get to where you're going between sunrise and sundown you're pretty much done for.

The worst part. They're vampires not zombies, they have all their intelligence, amped up emotion and an insatiable hunger. They set traps, they trick people and if one gets there aye on you in the night you can't outrun them.

Some people make deals with them, some people lure other humans to them. Some people take them as lovers, some try to fight back. But this is the new normal.
