One of my best memories takes place 2018 at the old Bradly location. Probably one of my favorite years I’ve attended.
I forget exactly what day it was but I started it strong and I started it early.
Very quickly I decided I needed to tell everyone I saw just how beautiful they were. It was probably one of the most profound day/night I’ve ever had at a festival. I could go on and on about everything that happened that day but I’ll skip to one of the moments that stands out later that night.
After changing into my onesie and getting ready for the night I decided I had to hug everyone I saw in a onesie. I probably hugged 200 people.
It was a beautiful night, the music beat down, I had my onesie on, I was flying.
It’s hard to remember all the details of where I was or who was playing but I’m barely positive that I was dancing through the Favela stage on search for another hug.
As I was dancing through, a cool hat caught my attention so I reached out and touched it. The guy wearing the hat spun around so quick I didn’t even have time to know how soft it was.
It was fucking Lee Reynolds. All I could say was “I know you!” and without saying anything he opened his arms and hugged me like I was an old friend. It was almost like he knew the journey I was on and just what I needed. No words were shared after because there was no need, it was exactly what it needed to be. He turned around and I looked back at my friend to make sure I was still in reality. Having received a reassuring look of disbelief, I danced on and met a guy who told me I was a beautiful butterfly.
Life was good.
