Guy with an extremely painful baseball/steel bat, anyone know the story?

There’s this story I can’t seem to find but I know I’ve read before. It’s about this guy who is either a teacher or instructor or something and he has a bat that was used to train his students with. The difference is that the bat was made to not cause any damage, heal the person hit, and cause like 3,000 times the pain while keeping them awake. Basically all the students iirc have ptsd from the bat and jokey stuff happens when the teacher quits his job and takes the bat with him on a journey meeting new people and former students. If anyone knows the title of the light novel or whatever I’d appreciate it.
