I can't help but think that after seeing the difficulties in generating a proper interesting galaxy they took a step back and went to the root, basically trying to focus on a single planet this time.
I can see No Man Sky 2 in the future taking in account the expertise they developed with Light No Fire in order to bring to life a really interesting galaxy, where the focus is a properly implemented planet variety generation, a scope that was lost after the very beginning of NMS in favor of something completely different.
Kudos to Sean, bring back the original NMS experience.
