I've had a few of the same friends throughout my life. Let's just call them friends 1-5. Friend 1 keeps in touch. When he wants to link up online to play games. Nonetheless he keeps in touch. Friends 2-5 constantly tell me they'll "link up" with me or "check their schedule" so we can make plans. That falls through. Every. Single. Time. Just for me to bring up facebook and see them all hanging out together anyway. I try to tell them I feel left out or that this is bothering me but 30 year old men are "too macho" for talks like this apparently and I get criticized to the point where I no longer wana talk about it. I've always been the group punching bag so the criticism comes with the territory of the circle I guess. I live 40 minutes away from everyone and have only ever had 2 people come up to me to hang out. I'm always the one having to drive to them. What should I do? Keep trying to get them to understand? Try and join their "mentality" and drop them after knowing them for 20 years? I dont know where else to go so I'm leaving an anonymous post on reddit for at least a little help. Anyone got any advice..?
