Im 33, and I broke up with my bf (36) and father of my children over a year ago after being together on and off for over 17 yrs because he kept cheating on me through casual encounters and online relationships. He's made a convincing argument for why he believes he kept doong what he did, and why he now feels differently about me and wants to prove himself. Yesterday he asked me if he could take a polygraph test as part of his effort to try to earn back my trust, specifically, to confirm that I'm aware of every affair he's had, and to prove to me that he didn't do two of the things I suspect him of. I didn't even know polygraphs to detect lies for the benefit of a relationship was a thing. I know they are not a solid science, or admissible in court. I might be crazy for even considering it, but if there's any chance he's telling the truth, or it could help to reestablish trust, and we could live happily again I'm willing to take it. I dont need to hear anyone tell me I shouldn't take him back because "once a cheater always a cheater." I'm well aware of the risk I'm taking. I want to know if there's anyone who's done this polygraph thing, or know someone who has, and what their experience was like.
