I 23 yr old male can't seem to hack my sleep schedule. For the past year & a half I've been a bartender & bouncer 6-7 nights out the week & have been getting home at 3am-4am not waking up until maybe later in the afternoon. At first I loved it. Being able to have the whole day to train in the gym & work at night knowing I did not have to wake up early. But the night life costed me relationships & I saw myself getting desensitized to alcoholic abuse. So decided to change career paths & started working as a correctional officer. This is where things get painful. The academy training is 8am-4pm. I can not sleep at all. No matter how hard I try I'm week 1 into this new job & I only sleep after work leaving 0 time for the gym. And I want to be at my best while in training. I was in the army for 3 years so I've done ok so far w/ the sleep deprivation but i can't seem to deny the fact that this is not healthy nor optimal for productivity. I was so excited to into the swing of the normal work life & this higher paying job but my body won't seem to adjust to this new lifestyle. How long do you think it'll take ? Any tips ? Any advice.
