Need advice with a job decision

Post Body

Basically, I have this job set up after my dad retires. I spent most of my life not wanting it. It’s a great job in finance and I would basically be inheriting a stable income for the rest of my life. The job itself never really interested me.

I recently found out that at my current job, I am getting a promotion. It will change my whole situation at work and could be a stepping stone into something I actually enjoy. The money isn’t great (decent) but I am comfortable.

The decision would have been easy for me until about 10 months ago when I had my daughter. Truly the greatest gift in the world and I will do anything for her. The first job ensures financial security for my family and that’s pretty much why I am taking it. My current job will definitely mean we will continue to (kinda) struggle financially but it could get better in a few years.

Anyone ever go through something like this ?
