How can I start allowing myself to eat in peace without feeling disguisting?

I've always had a weird relationship with food...? I guess I never wanted to admit it until recently I have been waking up at 2/3 A.M starving but it's like I am so hungry that I don't even have a appetite to eat from how hungry I was. I am starving as I am typing this post up trying to distract myself from hunger but I just am in such a pickle if I should eat or not. So how can I change my mentality and allow myself to eat maybe just a litte bit...?
