What is a good lie to tell my strict brown parents to go on a vacation with my bf?

Post Body

Hello all,

Currently live in a toxic household where my brown parents don't believe in traveling with significant other until marriage. My boyfriend has a trip planned for us to fly out to LA and Vegas for 5 days. Anyone have a good lie or excuse I can use to tell my parents? I am a PA student that lives in Buffalo for school if that gives any context, currently living at home for break.

**Also I've been feeling extremely guilty about trying to come up with a lie...but I feel like I deserve a break considering this is my last month off before I finish up school. How do I get over the feelings of guilt? It's been eating me up lol

do you work / have money at all? you can say you only have to pay a portion and school is covering the rest. can say they’re giving scholarships for ppl to attend the conference bc they really need to increase attendance this year
