I'm currently struggling to get myself to work on (and turn in) my final paper for one of my classes. Once this semester is over, I'll have finished my bachelors degree and be done with higher education (unless I decide to go back for a master's degree/phd). I've tried classical music (which usually helps), working in the library around other people, working in my dorm by myself, complete silence, asmr without any words, having something to snack on so that I have some sort of physical stimulation, working while my roommate is working at her desk to try and "mirror" her, and everything else that I normally do to help me focus but it's just not happening. This is my last semester of college, I really need to graduate because I am seriously burnt out and experienced some trauma back in October that I will be going to counseling for starting in January - dealing with that has already made it extremely difficult to get work done, I had to email multiple professors to ask for extensions and permission to turn in late assignments and they've all been very accommodating as well as letting me be involved with how they report it to the school since they're state mandated reporters. So while I do have a little bit of leeway with getting this paper done, it's already a day late and not even a long paper. I've had weeks to work on it but procrastinated/couldn't get myself to do literally any of my assignments. I can't just not do the paper since it counts for a huge portion of my grade and my attendance was pretty low. Any tips on how to get myself to just sit down and do the work instead of staring at my laptop?
