My partner and I have agreed to a 3-month, trial separation. We’ve worked with our therapist and a lawyer to draw up an agreement that we all feel will give us the strongest chance at reconciliation.

I’m the one who will be leaving the family home during the separation but I have no idea how to find a place. Available locations are either exorbitantly expensive or require lease agreements of at least 6, but almost always 12 months.

We live away from family and my local friends aren’t in a position to house me for more than a week or so. We have a school age child so I need to stay local.

Any thoughts on finding an affordable (up to $2500/mo, ideally lower) place for just 3 months in the Portland, OR area?
