How to ask for a higher Raise?

Post Body

So I just got a raise maybe 2 weeks ago. But it was only by a $1.50. Turning my $11 an hour to an outstanding $12. Wow... My coworker who got hired two months after me working the same job, however, was able to qualify before she started working for $16 an hour? What…? Her prior experience is just stuff like working at Walmart. So I know there’s no edge over me there. Now with that being said my employer’s very fair. I’m a full timer, and I feel like if I asked she’d put me on track for the raise. But I don’t wanna sound ungrateful of the raise she just gave me, or give her ground to fire me. Just want a little extra money for the hard labor I do. If the newbie gets $16 I should at least have more than fucking pocket change? Her paychecks nearly $1,000 a month I’m struggling here with $700 a month. Any advice or should I drop it?
