I started getting the first symptoms in the form of plaques in early November 2019, the itching didn't start for a about 3 weeks along with the papuls.
On my first visit to the GP he suspected Pityryosis Rosea because of the formation of the plaques. But the plaques kept coming so I went back and got referred to the dermatologist who did a biopsy. He is 99% sure its Lichen Planus although due to poor communication iv not had the official result of the biopsy yet. I must follow up tomorrow.
As far as diet goes I have a pretty balanced diet and snack healthily most of the time. I dont smoke cigarettes but do use a tobacco product called IQOS. And I do drink occasionally but when I do it's usually a pretty hardcore session.
Anyhow, around the end of January just after the biopsy I did a little research, went out a bought Curcumin. It has stopped the unbearable itching and almost eradicated the papuls in and around the plaques. I'd say it took about 3 -4 weeks for this to happen but it relieved the itching within 2 - 3 weeks Especially on the forearms but a huge reduction all over. The only obvious symptom for me now is the plaques and I can live with that. They are fading on my forearms but they may appear again elsewhere?
I was prescribed steroid cream and an old fashioned pill by the dermatologist(cant remember the name right now but will post later). I didn't like the idea of either of those so I did a little research then went out and bought the following:-
SOLGAR(Brand) Full Spectrum Curcumin softgels(capsules/pills). '185x greater bioavailability'
Only downside is I read into Solgar a little and I read Monsanto got their filthy claws in the business. I once protested against those bastards.
I would recommend it most definitely but just double check its suitable for you.
Anyone else here tried curcumin? It's extracted from turmeric and is a strong anti inflammatory
Anyway, good luck!
