So TL:DR version: I work and travel 80% of the time and when I take a break I look for out of the way places to rest. In doing that, I came across a very Libertarian valley in Colorado called the Wet Mountain Valley. You can find it HERE
I have been going here for 3 years and in that time have met many locals. Most of them a staunch Libertarians who tend to live by three rules:
1: Don't touch my gun!
2: Get the government out of my pocket, and
3: Keep your opinions out of my personal life.
You still find liberals and strong conservatives up there, but almost all I have met fall right in line with libertarian principles and do not want to be bothered. Its one of the more beautiful places in Colorado with the Sangria de Cristo Mountains to the west and green lush valley below.
What makes this valley really interesting is the cost of land is dirt cheap and there is 100Mb/s microwave internet throughout most of the valley. I purchased almost 6 acres on a south facing hillside with a fantastic 180 degree view that cost $15,000. If, like me, you can work remotely (IT consultant and Engineer) this place is great. Depending on where in the valley, you can still get to city services (Wal-mart, Home Depot, Safeway, etc.) in 30-45 mins and get to Pueblo in 55min. The Town of Westcliffe is about 10-15 mins depending.
This place is very welcoming, home to some of the best outdoors recreation in the state (except skiing, 1hr away) and has great people as neighbors.
Funny thing is, you mention the Wet Valley to people in Colorado Springs or Pueblo and they have no idea what you are talking about so its kind of hidden.
