Hey I was here a few days earlier asking for help with my Poverty research paper. I was asking for advice on which books I should use as reference for my paper, I got plenty of good advice but unfortunately it wasnât enough.
So, um.. I think it helps if you people have a better understanding of what I want to write about.
I wish to write in my research paper that Government intervention in poverty is ultimately harmful and that the Free Markets and Capitalism will alleviate poverty better than socialist institutions. I would also want to make allusions to Argentina under Juan Peronâs leadership and how Peronism which among its ideas, include intensive social welfare has made poverty worse for the country. I also want to explain how LBJ is responsible for the socioeconomic disenchantment of Black Americans.
I am looking for information that can help back my claims, this includes academic articles, books by âexpertsâ and statistics:
What I already had
*Capitalism and Freedom by Milton Friedman
*A quote by Derryck Green, a member of Project 21
What I am looking for.
*A quote by Thomas Sowell which explains why government poverty = bad, and the name of the book it comes from, (what specific page)
*Academic articles on the effects of capitalism or government intervention in poverty.
*Stastics on the rate of poverty from the start of the Great Society programs (under LBJ) to the present day
*articles or statistics on the effect of Peronism on the Argentina economy
*articles or statistics on the affect of the Free Market on housing prices in Argentina (during Mileiâs presidency)
*anything else that can help me in writing this research paper if you are going to suggest a book please, just state a important quote and what page. I donât have time to read the whole thing.
Thank you for helping me, I am embarrassed that I have to use Reddit for help with my own homework. But I am very new to libertarianism and have a very nuance view of it. Itâs too late for me to change the topic, but this is what I chose.
Note: My teacher is not woke, he is actually very open-minded and impartial. Even though he can be rude and patronizing sometimesâŚ
If you have anymore questions or are confused donât hesitate to ask me.
