Hey Reddit-ers,

I have a 2016 rc350 F sport, and for the first time I got hit with an engine light. Upon further inspection, turned out to be the O2 bank 1 sensor. idk why but I took about 2 months to attend to it. Long story short I replaced that and the engine light came back shortly, later to find out that now that it messed with the catalyst system.

The shop that changed my O2 sensor is saying that the catalyst system may need to be changed and that it is clogged :/. They did advise me to put 95 octane gas and that there might be a slight chance that the catalyst system clears up but they said they can’t guarantee it. Or the next option would be to literally replace the whole bank 1 catalytic converter.

Now I would replace the whole thing but they quoted me a price of 2400$ (parts and labour). Just for one bank!!!!

Not sure how cooked I am and in how much urgency I should be getting to this. Also wondering if there’s any other options!?
