Tldrweighing the pros of Tesla's innovation against the cons of potential discomfort and the tried-and-true luxury and dependability of Lexus models.
Will be posting this on Tesla for broad judgement. We're a family of four, love our 2021 IS350 F Sport and 2020 Ford Expedition King Ranch, the latter being a keeper for the long haul. Our IS350's lease is nearing its end, presenting a $27K buyout. Spartan interior and basic sound system, but only 20k miles, sexy, fun, and potential for longevity. My preference leans towards the Expedition for its comfort and space, leaving my wife and kids to primarily use the IS, which snugly fits two car seats. She takes the Expedition in situations where space or more than 3/2 car seats are needed. Our past includes Corollas and a 2007 IS.
Our exploration for a new vehicle began with a Grand Highlander, which, despite its merits, couldn't match the Expedition's appeal. This journey led to a fondness for the RAV4 and curiosity about the redesigned NX and RX. The Model 3 entered our radar as a strong contender, with my wife particularly interested. However, our experience with Tesla's Model Y—marked by its advanced technology but marred by a bumpy ride causing discomfort for our kids—made us hesitant. The Model 3's allure includes its innovative tech and environmental benefits, but concerns about ride comfort and interior space, especially with car seats, persist.
Thus, we're drawn towards leasing a Tesla highland model 3 to experience its cutting-edge tech, improved suspension and reduced noise in particular, without long-term commitment. Contrasting with our inclination to purchase a Lexus for its reliability and luxurious comfort, but also because the recent redesigned body styles and platforms of NX and RX.
