I just created my account a couple of months ago, and while I think I've added in the vast majority of what I have seen in my life, there is at least one movie that has alluded me as I do not remember the name.
The film is a Mexican film from I believe the 1950s. In it, a small village is invaded by a Mexican gangster who essentially takes the town hostage. While he's there, however, he ends up falling in love with a young woman who is the daughter of an important man (I believe the mayor but I could be wrong). The gangster acts like a thug around her, at one point trying to forcibly kiss her, but you're supposed to care for him because he's a devout Catholic and longtime friend of the local priest. Needless to say, the film ends with him leaving the village and telling the woman she doesn't need to come with him - so naturally she goes with him.
Could someone identify this film for me?
