Why did older bands/singers tend to release new music faster then current day artists?
Post Body

I've noticed then when I'm checking out an older band/singer, from like the 70's or 80's their albums will go something like this.

1st album: 1973 2nd album: 1974 3rd and 4th album: 1975 5th album: 1976

But as you get closer to present day it's more or less like this.

1st album: 2010 2nd album: 2013 3rd album: 2015 4th album: 2017 5th album: 2020

And if you go even deeper you find artists from like the 50's and 60's that dropped almost monthly.

Why has the rate of new music slowed down as time goes on? I know it's not all artists as some electronic artists drop almost monthly as well but at least from rock/metal/pop/hip hop and such it's pretty much expected that a 2 year gap will follow every release.
