I am male and live in Canada and this just happened today. It was my day off and I was lounging around when I decided to take the garbage out. As I went down the back portion of my apartment I looked toward the front door. Which has a large glass window. I noticed a man shirtless sleeping on our front stairs. I thought that was kind of odd but there are alot of homeless around here so I thought I would go to the store, and if he was still there when I got back I would try N shoo him away.

I went to the store and as I arrived back to the front the man was gone, I thought okay good but noticed his backpack was still there. I walked to the side of the building and noticed another sketchy homeless man who appeared to be stareing at the neighbors buildings windows.

I thought shit I hope he didn't piggy back into our apartment when another tenant went in the front door. So I searched floor by floor for the shirtless homeless man. I found no one and went back to my apartment. I looked out my balcony which looks onto the front entrance. As I did I noticed he was back and was trying to pry the screen off the window of one of the basement apartments windows. I immediately called 911 and watched as a police officer tackled the man to the ground. He pulled a crack pipe out of his pocket as to more men came running out screaming. They were saying "this man was in my apartment!!" and screaming at him. As the cops arrested him I went and talked to one of the guys.

He asked me if I was the one who called I said I did and he thanked me. He told me him and his friend were watching football and were currently dog sitting. Suddenly the dog who never barked started freaking out. He thought that was weird but just decided to go to the bathroom. As he walked towards it he noticed his bedroom door was shut which he said he never does.

As he opened the door he found the same homeless man In his bed sleeping. (which must have been when he disappeared from the front of my building) he freaked out and told him he had to go in which the man said "this isn't my house?" as the opened the door the dog got out and so did he. So fearing the dog would get hit by a car they ran after it. And this must have been when he started breaking into my building and the cop tackled him. We got the dog safely and the cops took him away as he stated both of us down thru the window of the car screaming at us.

This was defiantly a freaky situation and my neighbors going to have to burn that bed. The worst part is my neighbor thinks the other homeless dude was some sort of an accomplice and is still out there. So homeless shirtless man let's not meet again.

Also the cops have zero idea how the man Got into my neighbours, there are no signs of anything being pryed open of signed of breaking and enter.
