I'm 19F, and I've had a lot of casual sex. Total of around 50 partners, I'd guess, most of which were casual hookups when I was 16-17. A few months ago, a guy that I was sort of casually dating gave me HSV-1 (the oral kind). I've only had one cold sore, and my doctor said it's fairly likely that I'll never have one again, but I can still be contagious. It's hitting me hard, because I refuse to be a huge douchebag like the guy that gave it to me and just hook up with people without telling them, but when I do tell people (and it has to be before we kiss, because that's how it spreads) they always decide not to hook up with me.

I'm not into party/bar culture anymore, which makes getting laid harder, but I'm extremely attractive and very charismatic so it hasn't been an issue. Until now. The stupid thing is that 70-90% of adults have already been exposed to the virus and thus are immune, but even after I tell people that, none of them are even willing to bother to get tested for antibodies to find out if they're immune! WTF. Having lots of sex with a hot girl isn't motivation enough for you to get a free blood test? I feel like it's the idea that's so off-putting that makes people just totally lose interest, even knowing it's likely that they can't get sick, and knowing that they can find out definitively before putting themselves at risk. This includes people that I've had fuck buddy relationships in the past - all of them abruptly stopped seeing me when I informed them.

LetsGetLaid, help! I don't want to spend the rest of my life celibate. Which, full disclosure, I won't even if this issue persists, because I'm in an open relationship with a wonderful man...but he has a much lower sex drive than me, so I really do need to have other options.
