I am new to the city, and I was excited to see these BC fruit trucks popping up. Who doesn’t want to eat ripe fruit from Canadian farmers, right? Well unfortunately only half of that last sentence was the case during my visit. Even though all the posters say it’s BC produce, in fact 70% was California grown, but charging twice the price of the grocery store selling the same product.
I just feel that there are many people out there being misled, that don’t ask questions or don’t realize certain crops are not ready for harvest in Canada this time of year(unless greenhouse of course)
Had the trucks advertised their products as fresh fruit with BC cherries and strawberries, I wouldn’t have felt misled.
Just thought I’d share.
