Hi everyone I´m starting my first serious streaming venture and I´m researching what I can do to make the allegedly painful early streaming sessions as painless as possible. I´ve created a virtual avatar and set up the initial look of the stream. My plan is to stream Final Fantasy 1-10 and the tactics games and 12 much later while beating all bosses. So I have a deep well of content I can pull from and from a franchise I am passionate about. So much of this process seems certain but I´m nervous about how to present myself and my content online.
A few questions I have for experienced streamers and people who ejoy streaming content
-Where is a good place to advertise to gain a few early viewers?
-How should I handle donations? Do I start out accepting donations or wait until I have a following?
-Should I advertise the stream as a means of raising money for transition or will that harm my viewership (transphobes, people who don´t like donation streams, etc)
-I plan to stream on twitch. Should I consider doing youtube instead for any reason?
-My current plan is to stream Thursday-Sunday starting at 8 EST. Are these good times to start at or should I consider something else for more exposure?
Outside of raising money for the prohibitively expensive aspects of my transition my goal is to be like a lady Bob Ross of RPGs. I want to create a soft and comfy space that can help people discover a game they might like and see games as a no pressure zone where we can all take our time. Thank you for taking the time to read this post.
