Hey gang. This isn't a post about coming out, or controversy or anything. I lost my mother a little over a week ago to Alzheimer's. When I retired from the Army, she was still able to get around but it went downhill fast. She died at home with me. This woman survived spousal abuse, three deployments of her daughter, numerous financial problems, and many others. We never saw eye-to-eye on many things. She wouldn't have kicked my father out if I hadn't made him go, but she was always happy to have me there. She fed me as a child and so I fed her when she lost the ability to eat.
So, what is this post for? Tell me your stories about your mom. Good stories. Anything at all. It doesn't have to be about our sexuality. As I go through all of her financial records, sorting her stuff, and figuring out what's next, I'd love to hear about your moms.
Thanks. Peace be with you all.
