How do y’all feel about poetry as a gift?

Post Body

My girlfriend and I are celebrating the first time we met next month. I don’t think we plan on doing any actual gifts for each other at the moment. But I wanted to surprise her with a sonnet. We had joked in the past about me writing her a poem but I don’t think she actually believed I could do it.

Would you like it if your partner did some thing like that for you? Do you think something like this is too corny? Would it make you uncomfortable? I’m only asking because I’m not much of a poet and I don’t want it to come off as over-the-top. 😅
