it's devastating that my family doesnt accept my partner. i went to my partner's mom's for xmas eve and their dad's on xmas day. my dad, knowing i'm with my partner, told my brother i was going to a "friend's house" on xmas.

my queerness is just completely ignored in my family. i've been dating this person for a few months short of a year. i could really use some positivity in this thread.

if you've had an unsupportive family that came around eventually, what did that look like? how long did it take? how did you cope with the waiting? and any advice for the holidays?
