Coming Out and Being Disowned

Post Body

I'm planning on coming out to my parents. I've come to terms that I will never be able to be in a hetero relationship again. So my options are being single or being gay. I've determined I can't just live my entire life single to please my parents, so I plan on coming out to them sometime in the near future. Once I do, they will disown me and never talk to me again.

Of course this hurts. What hurts more is that I have 2 children from my prior (comphet & religious pressured) marriage. So, my children will lose one set of grandparents too. That hurts even more I think.

Anyone else experienced disowning once they came out to their family? How did you work though it?
