So Iām queer and wanted to check out some good queer movies, and I came across films like āImagine Me & Youā, āKyss Migā, and āBelow Her Mouthā. But I started noticing a pattern that they all revolve around cheating and kind of normalize it, making it seem like itās okay. Iām not sure thatās the best representation of our community. I mean, with how often this theme shows up, it starts to feel like weāre being portrayed as a bunch of cheaters, and thatās not something I want to be associated with. While I did enjoy some of these movies, I caught myself kind of normalizing cheating, and thatās definitely not something I support in real life. Even if itās tied to exploring your sexual identity, I think there are better ways to handle things as opposed to cheating. Iām curious to hear what you all think because Iām feeling pretty conflicted about this.
