how important is someone's type?
Post Body

hi all, the question is pretty much what's in the title.

i like one of my friends a lot, but she's into the "bad girl" type and in general tends to go for people much wilder (and more prone to terrible life decisions) than me. i've talked about this with a mutual friend and she confirmed i'm very much not this girl's type. she spoke as if i had no hope of ever being on her radar, which wasn't very encouraging.

so i wonder, how important do you think personal preferences are?

(for context: i had a strict upbringing, so i don't smoke, i've never seen A Drug and i only drink socially. i'm also the shy and polite type, though i'll say i can be an absolute gremlin with my friends. my crush and i have known each other for like six years)

thank you!
