Chappell Roan is not a fake lesbian.

I’m really frustrated by the ongoing comments doubting her sexuality and insisting she’s not a lesbian. I’m not talking about this sub, but I’ve seen a lot of comments, especially from within the community, claiming she’s not a "real" lesbian and calling her performative.

Let’s be crystal clear—she’s only interested in women. Chappell has openly shared that she no longer dates men and has even talked about being labeled a lesbian when she was younger, a label she wasn’t ready to accept back then but fully embraces now. Despite this, some people still insist she’s bisexual?

It’s so frustrating to see comments like, “She’ll end up with a boyfriend eventually.” Why is it so hard to accept that a woman who’s dated men in the past can still identify as a lesbian? Her past relationships don’t invalidate her current identity. It’s exhausting and disheartening to see these unfounded assumptions and accusations that she’s just seeking attention. This whole situation highlights how lesbians are still discriminated against and how people continue to doubt our sexuality. She’s come out as a lesbian more than enough times, yet people still claim she’s bi because of a couple of songs about her ex. Lesbian erasure is real, and its fucking tiring.

Feeling frustrated enough to speak out about the constant erasure, especially when even people from our own community invalidate and erase our identity without even realizing it.
