We reconnected with my mothers family recently they’re yeshivish. I made it clear I’m a lesbian and won’t take shit over that. Everyone’s so far been love the sinner and keep quite and one uncle said homophobic shit to my face. Bubby (moms mom) has been seemingly quietly supportive. She worked in a less frum school and was able to connect to students easily so combined with seemingly supportive comments and me discussing my dating life I assumed she was chill. Then I made the mistake of asking to invite my AFAB friend for Shabbos. That’s when the mask came off and turns out nope she isn’t supportive she’s in fact a raging homophobe. She called my mom behind my back to see if that friend and I are dating. Ma wouldn’t give an answer and Bubby stared on how it’s avod a zarah (sin) and shit like that. All behind my back because that apparently makes it acceptable to do and is better then directly to my face. She also proceeded to text my sister a load of bull which I’ll attach here. If anyone has experience with frum Jews and their bullshit hit me up cause seriously I’m so fucking done with these people.
