Basically the title. The boy she’s been seeing after we broke up has herpes and didn’t disclose it because “he assumed if he wasn’t having an outbreak it wasn’t contagious”. About a month ago she came to visit me and we ended up getting really drunk and having sex. I’ve been having non stop panic attacks since she told me. She swears she hasn’t had an outbreak but I’ve learned that she could have not been aware of the outbreak, and she could have been shedding. I’m TERRIFIED to get tested because I’ve read online that false positives are common and I don’t want to unnecessarily do that to my mental health. To make matters worse I have what I would otherwise assume is a pimple near my butthole/vaginal opening area. It feels hard like a pimple and it’s not a cluster, it’s not oozing, but dear god is it freaking me out. It’s not razor burn because I don’t shave. To make matters even more worse my primary care doctor is on maternity leave and her replacement has terrible bedside manner and freaked me out about getting cancer when I went to see her about burping a lot and chest pains (which has totally resolved). I’m so terrified that this doctor is only going to freak me out more and I really don’t feel comfortable going to her about something I’m already so freaked out about. My regular doctor should be back in September I believe.
