My old laptop had 32GB DDR4. This new Legion I got has 16GB of DDR5, which, looking at benchmarks, seems to be roughly as good as the 32 DDR4. Which is good, and what helped me decide to go forward- because in this laptop, 8GB of RAM is soldered in... which caused me some significant hesitation in making the purchase - so far I'm happy, but that was my only hangup.
So of the 16, 8 is soldered and 8 is technically upgradeable. But let's say I replace that 8 stick with a 16 stick and wind up with 24GB overall RAM. Is that just going to knock me out of dual channel and wind up being counterproductive?
