Stripped/stuck NVME screw - no idea what to do, already tried JB Weld

Post Body

So a couple days ago I bought a Legion 7i Slim. I did lots of research and my old laptop was an MSI which I vowed to never buy another. I thought I was going to be happy. I also bought a new 1TB Samsun 990 Pro NVME to install as the main hard drive.

Opened the laptop, put the nvme in slot 2, cloned successfully. Then I powered it all off, turned it over, and... the Slot 1 NVME screw would not come out. I tried multiple screwdrivers, a dab of WD40 even, and the thing just won't budge. In the end, it wound up getting stripped, and I can't manage to turn it with pliers either.

I went and bought some JB Weld, and let a sacrifice screwdriver cure in the hole for a day. When I tried to turn it... it mushed right out.

Wit's end here. The 990 Pro needs to be in slot 1 for the laptop to use it as the system drive (and I want to put a cheapo 4TB storage nvme in slot 2). I do have Total Tech (and bought the laptop at Best Buy) - are geek squad equipped with bit extraction tools? Anyone else have this problem and figure out how to get the thing out?

Update: I used a needle nose pliers to destroy the end of the factory nvme and once it was out it was easy to grip the stripped screw with pliers. I was replacing it anyway 🤷‍♂️
