Specifically, all the number keys stop working every now and then, except for 5 and 6. And this occurs randomly. Or rather, at the worst times for it to happen, like while I'm inputting a password.

And then, when they miraculously start working again, sometimes they trigger the key multiple times when i press it once.

I can confirm that the computer is refurbished, so it could be a HW failure, and also I never had this problem when I first got the computer.

What I have done:

• Taken apart the laptop and reseated what I think was the keyboard connector (i haven't taken it apart completely though)

• Looked it up online

  • Only one article I have found temporarily fixes it, but the problems continue soon afterwords.

• Cleaned the keyboard

• Used different OSes (I primarily use Linux, but the problem is persistent in both Windows and numerous Linux distros, old and new)

What I have not done:

• Replaced the keyboard

• Taken the keyboard completely out

• Done a UEFI update

Does anybody have any suggestions on what could be the problem?
