Experiences using M glass on a SL-2?
Post Body

Hey all! I’m hoping to hear from some of y’all about your experiences shooting an SL-2 using M glass. It seems like a pretty solid setup to me with the ergonomics of the SL series but the small form factor and beautiful rendering of M glass. However, there are likely some drawbacks that I just haven’t thought of, so I’d love to hear about those as well.

As some background, I currently have an M11 Monochrom and a q2. I absolutely love the monochrom and wouldn’t ever want to get rid of it. However, I’ve found myself in some situations where a color camera would be preferable, but the focal length of the Q prevents me from reaching for it (the widest that I typically shoot is a 35). Now, I’ve stumbled upon an SL-2 body in a local shop, and they’ve offered it for less than $3k ( a pretty good deal imo since it’s from a retail store with a 90 day warranty).

I’m seriously considering selling the Q to finance this purchase, but wanted to hear some firsthand accounts before pulling the trigger. TIA!
