I have had this rice bowel for many many years. My Grandfather had git it as a give when he was in Iran before the country was overthrown. I had always understood it to have come from an archaeological dig, was Persian and about 800 years old and was then gifted to my Grandfather. I always loved this piece and I have a couple others too. There was an antiques road show come through, Iā€™m in San Diego btw, so I took this piece and a couple other pieces I had to get some information on. I think there were 5 experts there and when I took this and another piece out all 5 stopped what they were doing and chuckled a bit when I told them I had understood it to me Persian. They all agreed that it was not Persian but was Ming Dynasty. I about lost me teeth when they said that and quickly put them back into their case and went home and locked them away lololol. I do have the pieces displayed in my apartment now. I never did figure out what they were with
