Notes from Snnuy's interview with the Developer
Post Body

So I didn't really see this discussed, but for those that didn't know Snnuy did an interview with a dev. Here are a few notes for those who didn't get the chance to see it. Has some very good knowledge for some of you who have been wondering what the devs have been thinking.

Link to the interview: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2177869287

Dev name: PVDDR

Game Balance and Difficulty: The devs wanted to essentially toy around with different types of difficulty, with Swain notably taking much different strategies to complete compared to Lissandra. This was intentional as they want to try and find new ways to add difficult adventures since a majority of the game was still lower tier adventures.

They do plan to add more 2,3 and 4-star adventures, but with hard modes tied to them, so that it can suit both newer and older players. They will try and add content that works for everyone because everyone who plays has different preferences when it comes to the type of content they want to do.

Animation Speed: They noted that it's something they're looking to fix, but it's not a simple fix and it's actual quite difficult to implement. They don't have an exact date when it will be changed, but it's something that they're very much working on.

Rewards: Rewards and how they're placed currently are very intentional. They try to keep the best rewards somewhat early on or in the middle, such as with monthly challenges. This is due to the fact that this makes it so that newer players, or most players in general don't feel like they're missing out if they can't or don't want to make it far in that type of content.

The best example of this is for Swain's new adventure, where his fragments are placed as the first reward, meaning a decent amount of players will only go for a single clear just for the fragments. It's also the reason why the reward for clearing floor 70 is whelming, it makes it so that it's a goal people can reach, but not something that you feel forced to do.

Pyke and future buffs and nerfs for POC: Most future buffs and nerfs will probably only happen when the champions receive their constellations. Most of these will come with a decent amount of changes, if the champion really needs them, even a full rework of star powers if needed (demonstrated by Pyke below, heh get it?) But there will be no big patch where they tune a bunch of champions at once.

They understand pvp nerfs can affect poc, but will aim to sate those changes through items.

Pyke for example is getting his 1-3*'s fully reworked.

His new 2-star power summons an ephemeral sharkling when you have the attack token on Round Start.

His 4-star power is Lie in Wait

and his 6-star power is "Your spells everywhere have lurk" (this seems to only be half of it, they're hiding the other half)

Battle Pass: It's planned for the future and they're currently working on it. They ideally want it to be good for the path of champion players especially (which makes sense as this is basically the focus of the game now). They want both the free and paid tracks to really help player progression. We don't have a date or a timeline that the developer feels comfortable revealing.

Additional notes:

The dev is team Heimerdinger for Arcane..... HEIM NEXT POC CHAMP CONFIRMED (Not actually, ignore this)

They do know the limit of what's clearable, and they tend to not want to go near that limit. They don't plan to go much harder than Lissandra or Swain in the near future.

I've found they're really effective for farming 3-star adventures to unlock Epic relic slots.
