Did something happen with the blue bird event making it harder overnight or is it just me?

I picked Astrie for my first slime and his thunder cloud had basically been one shotting all the bosses for me. Only struggle I encountered was surviving all the minion waves. But after increasing stats a bit I could move on to the next level. Got off to sleep last night and now this morning I collected the afk reward and upgraded and now it’s like I deal barely any damage to the bosses. Am I the only one noticing this?
