Probate granted. Is it a case of how longs a piece of string?

As title suggests I was able to establish probate was granted on the 05/10/22 via the probate website.

The solicitor is the executor, I’m one of 5 beneficiaries. The solicitor has been unhelpful to all beneficiaries throughout this entire process and was argumentative with the deceased wife when she enquired as funeral bills hadn’t been settled.

No property involved, just accounts that need to be wound up and presumably the standard timeframe to ensure no money is owed.

Couple of questions if possible from those with any knowledge.

1) When should the solicitor contact beneficiaries to obtain updated contact details? 2) When should the solicitor contact the beneficiaries (if at all) to notify that probate has been granted and/or advise of monies owed to beneficiaries? 3) How long from probate being granted should it take to wind up accounts? 4) Who is the regulator for complaints. Is it the legal ombudsman?

Help is greatly appreciated. This is a sub £60k inheritance with a will that has taken 14 months already.
