I left the military in July due to a medical discharge. The medical issue was originally started In 2014 (pilonidal sinus) and the mismanagement of it eventually caused me to be discharged.
The original Surgery and subsequent negligence was at the hands of military surgeons and consultants and in 2015, 18 months after my original surgery, I discharged myself and went to the NHS to complete my care.
Now this falls under medical negligence. However this has a 3 year time limitation on it (of which I was never made aware) and any law firm I have contacted have dismissed my case due to this.
Now I’m resigned at this point to not claiming under this blanket however there must be some way I which I can still take a legal case against them?
I’ve used the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme but the amount I was offered was quite frankly insulting considering this injury has ultimately led to the loss of my career. I’ve also been in touch with my local MP who has been less than helpful regarding the matter.
So I guess I’m asking is there any other way I can take this up that isn’t medical negligence?
