I bought a BMW X3 in February - all in all seemed a good deal - however since purchase it has been riddled with issues. The biggest problem to date was the automatic gearbox slipping out of gear, which I reported and, despite the AA Warranty provided (3 months), it was not covered as 'wear and tear'. Fair enough, paid £1300 to get it fixed - the garage actually paid £500 of that as good will, as it wasn't covered - we move on.
A week later, the turbo fails.
On a 2.0 diesel that's an expensive repair. I'm within warranty still, but it isn't covered as it's 'wear and tear'. I'm now looking to be out of pocket by upwards of £3k within 3 months of the purchase of the vehicle.
I don't know if this can be pinned on the gearbox/clutch repairs made by the garage in the meantime, or whether this is a new, unrelated issue, but do I have any grounds here? The car I part exchanged is still on their forecourt, can I ask for a refund/re-exchange?
Any help appreciated.
