Help with Housing Association Tenancy Agreement.
Post Body

First of all let me thank you in advance for your advice. I am quite stressed at the moment due to all this and need further advice on it.

I'll try and make this as short as possible but with all the necessary details. I was estranged from both my mother and father when I was a teenager and moved in with my Grandparents (along with my sister as well). I got to the age of 17 and my sister wanted to move out with her partner and asked me to move in with them, my sister then became my legal guardian and we got moved into a 3 bed property and we was told that Me, my sister and her partner were all put down as main tenants on the tenancy agreement and the only reason we got the house so quick was because I was classed as a vulnerable young adult. We was living in it fine, however in January last year my sister and her partner got married and then divorced (some months later) and her partner took her name off the tenancy agreement.

It was then just me and my sister living in this property (again under the assumption that we were both main tenants. My sister then met her current partner and decided she wants to move in with said partner (they are also now married if that matters).

This brings me to my situation now. I can afford to keep paying the rent by myself and all the bills, also I would even like to buy the property (via Right to Aquire) I was advised I had both of these options and I have tried both, but have been unsuccessful in pursuing both avenues. I first went down the right to aquire route only to be told that I need to be a main tenant in order to buy the property (I have been living here for over 3 years now again if that matters). I then tried to add my name to the tenancy agreement as a main tenant, to be now told today that because my sister is the only main tenant (despite what we was told when we moved in) and she plans to vacate the property, that no further amendments can be made to the tenancy agreement, changes to the tenancy agreement can only be made once (which it already has) and I have to vacate the property within 3 month.

My question after all this is, am I in a legal position to do anything to stay in this property (claiming foul play if I take it to court etc) and is what the housing association doing legal or illegal.

I know it's a long read but I would really appreciate the help and advice as I can't afford any legal advice at the very moment in time.

Thank you
