Car got broken into in London ncp. The car park is underground with secure gates that can only get in with anpr and the pedestrian access is secure gate where you need to put you car number plate in to be able to gain access to get to your car.
We parked up left the car for around 4hrs from 11:30am - 3:30pm and when we got back the rear windscreen had been smashed and some stuff taken. Opposite us I might add was another car in far worse state and the contents pulled out everywhere.
I went up the carpark to the office which is supposed to be staffed and found no one there, also found the customer service intercoms not working but more importantly there is a secure pedestrian gate there that was broken and not working as in not locking and could easily be pulled open and closed which I took pics and videos of.
I’m currently waiting for their risks team to apparently get back to me and I’ve also emailed for a request of the cctv as I’m aware I’m legally entitled to a copy of it.
I’ve also since found out that this sort of stuff in this carpark is now happening very regularly and clearly nothing is being done about it.
So my questions are, is this a breach of contract by ncp and classed as negligence due to the secure gate not working? as this potentially has let in the people who committed the crime. And the fact that this keeps happening from what I’ve seen online
