So I will try and keep this as short and sweet as possible for my employment. I work as a part-time undertaker, casual zero contract but still classed as an employee as far as I know.
Yesterday at work, whilst I was waiting to move a coffin into the chapel for the funeral to commence one of the senior bosses started taking photographs which included for employees. They also took video, which I’m not quite sure what was captured.
Today I expressed my displeasure that photographs were taken without discussion and that I felt this could well be a GDPR issue too. First of all, I was asked if the person had been asked by family to take photographs to which I replied that doesn’t really matter as I wasn’t discussed that I would be in them. Then the next statement was that I was at work in uniform and being paid so they’re quite entitled to take photographs of me which I feel quite certain isn’t correct.
Thirdly, I tried to explain that those photographs could end up anywhere or being posted anywhere once handed off to the family.
Where do I stand ?
